Drug Rescheduling

As of 1 May 2005, the veterinary drug ketamine hydrochloride, which is used as an injectable anaesthetic, will be rescheduled from S4 (restricted substance) to S8 (drug of addiction). Voluntary Removal From the Roll
Voluntary Removal from the Roll
Will you be relocating inter-state? Going on a working holiday overseas? Not practising in NSW for a certain period of time? With the exception of those going to the UK (see page 12 for details), you may wish to have yourself removed from the Roll in order to save on yearly renewal fees. It’s as simple as letting us know in writing. Visit our website and print out the appropriate form. There is no fee required.

Why do I need to remove myself from the Roll?
If you do not remove yourself from the Roll, and you do not pay the annual roll fee, your name will be removed for non payment of Roll fees on 1 January 2006. When you DO wish to renew your registration in NSW, a penalty fee, currently $235, as well as the annual roll fee of $235 will need to be paid.

2005 Veterinarian Registration Cards

Due to the success of the 2004 registration cards and the positive feedback from veterinarians, we have chosen to continue with the use of Registration Cards for all NSW registered veterinarians.

Rego Card

In late January this year, NSW veterinarians were issued with a new registration card. This card may be used as proof that you are a registered veterinarian with the Veterinary Surgeons Board of NSW. It is valid for the full year, and expires on 31 December 2005. The cost for a replacement card is $25.

Changing Your Address?

Under Section 13 of the Veterinary Surgeons Regulations 1995 :

A veterinary surgeon must, within 14 days after changing his or her residential address or the place at which the veterinary surgeon practises, notify the Board in writing of that change.” The Board accepts this in the form of a written letter (posted to:
PO Box 6391, Alexandria NSW 2015), an email (vsb@vsb.nsw.gov.au) or a fax (02 9699 4488).
