Veterinarians Needed for ADT Panel
Preamble
Under the new Veterinary Practice Act 2003, the peer review process for handling complaints made against veterinarians will involve investigation of complaints by a sub-committee of the Board (the ‘Complaints Committee’) concluding with an initial assessment by the sub committee. The sub-committee will make recommendations concerning the complaint, to the Board.

Changes to CPD

Since 2002 the VSB of NSW has asked the profession to look seriously at the need to document their participation in continuing education activities.

We now have the Draft Regulations of the Veterinary Practice Act 2003 available for review by the profession and these require this participation be recorded and for the Board to be notified each year of the veterinarian’s CPD activities. more

for Veterinarians
Doctors Health Advisory Service
Independent and confidential service staffed by specially selected and trained medical practitioners who are able to offer personal and health assistance as well as referral to specialists. Veterinary practitioners or their families or their colleagues are able to make calls to the Helpline. Issues vary and all calls are unique but may involve depression, alcohol abuse, drug use, work related stress or marriage difficulties. This is a highly respected and leading health care advisory organization aiming to assist veterinarians to maintain full personal, professional and social capability and the dedicated telephone service is available 24 hours a day.
